This study is being conducted for a course in Evaluation of Systems and Services (SI 622), under the direction of Professor Judy Olson (jsolson@umich.edu; 734-763-0164).

The overall purpose is to evaluate the usefulness and usability of portable mp3 players. Participation in this study will help us learn more about the factors that contribute to the usefulness and usability of portable mp3 players.

Participation in this study is completely voluntary. You may withdraw from the study at any time after it begins if you wish. You may skip any questions that make you feel uncomfortable. Withdrawing your participation will have no adverse consequences.

All of the information collected in this study will be confidential. Participants will be assigned a respondent code that is cross-checked to a participant list. We will maintain sole access to this list. Your responses will be held in confidence. Selective quotations or summaries of content may be used, but these will remain anonymous and will not have any identifying details. Your name will not appear on any material about this project that is presented to others. All identifying information will be destroyed at the end of the winter 2002 semester.
